The Area Chart is one of the basic chart types. The area chart illustrates the magnitude of change over time or categories. In an area chart, the area between the series� line and the X-axis is filled with a color for that data series. You can additionally add lables to the series data points, change the data point marks and their size.

The chart is available in its normal representation as well as rotatated horizontally.
